hi guys

now since the "ab bas" fever is cooling down which was on a high rise after terror attacks in mumbai, media has not much masala material left to telecast on 24 x 7 news channels and so this new scripted bitter question answers session is on air. last night on a famous news channel( all news channels ae famous for their one or the other drama isnt it?) i was watching a question answer session with 3 lawyers. the topic was if ajmal kasab should get a prosecutor or no?the anchor was asking questions to lawyers but want wait for the complete answer from the lawyer.i have noticed this that the news readers or anchors do ask quesions to the guests invited by the channel but as always noticed the guest is given time enough only to get the answer the channel wants to get from the person and the talk is cut down saying hamare paas aur jyada waqt nahi hai to hum is charcha ko yahin khatam karte hai.( most of the time goes in commercial breaks even on news channels) ( very sad to say but during the live coverage telecast of terrorist attacks, there goes a commercial break showing a funny advertisement of a condom. its a crude crude joke i guess) isnt this the insult to a guest? why the hell do we the audiance have to keep wondering for the questions which remain un answered? but this is how it is and is going to be. i am also writing this but i also want stop watching such stupid 24 X 7 dramas and will keep pouring the nonsense on my blog here. this is what the blogging is for. isn't it? he he he now you guys start wondering what i have said is right or wrong?

rahul's take on his miraculous escape that night

hi friends
this is forwarded to me by some friend who got it as forward from hr friend so i really dont have any contact details of this Rahul though i would want to know all the details from him. but anyways whatever he has written here would be very useful to all of us so i thought of puttint it on my blog.
"My heartfelt thanks to you for your support and wishes during the horrific experience. I havent yet had a chance to connect with everyone and hence this bulk mail - this is so not my way of doing it. My apologies for that. I want you to know that this is NOT a mindless forward but a straight message from someone you've known. I wont go much into details of what happened that night. To cut the long story short - I was holed up in my room at the Taj hotel the fateful night of the terrorist attack. Managed to escape by the skin of my teeth at around 4 am - in sheer denial of allowing fire and smoke to swallow me. By gods grace I managed to make the run down 6 floors and some few metres without the devil in my way. You can imagine how happy I am to be here typing this away. ( For anyone who wants to know the gore - let me know. I have the full story and transcripts of my SMSes recorded for posterity - to keep my anger burning and reminding me of my purpose) I thought I'd leave a few messages which might be of help to all good people. In the modern day world, risks are a plenty. Terrorists, tsnunamis, earthquakes - the list can go on. None of these check on your profile, company, religion, class or seniority when they hit. They just hit. And we know now it can happen anywhere. Here are a few things we could all do to keep it safer and better. Firstly, value your family and friends. Two things I strongly recommend you check on1. Make sure you are covered well by insurance. Even if you are well off - leave them better off if the unfortunate were to happen.2. Let them know details on things like bank accounts, investments etc. Keep a folio with your spouse and close family. 3. Use every waking moment to cherish what you have - family, friends, nature. Stay smiling, laughing and caring. Admittedly these arent things I thought about deeply till now. I shudder at the thought of what if. Lets move from the philosphical to the more practical. There are a few lessons that I want to share 1. When in a hotel or a new place - please NOTE where the FIRE EXIT is. The fire exit route saved my life. I had no clue of where it was and why I ran where I did. Why I turned left or right. Providential escape for me - nothing more. I've stayed in hotels for years and dont remember ever paying attention to this. Its a few seconds invested that can save you from big trouble.2. Insist on taking a room in the outer periphery - where the fire brigade can reach you. My room was on the inside and I tell you what - there was no chance the fire brigade would ever reach me. They would have always been a few yards but several hours away. Ever thought of this detail. 3. A key item on your survival kit is your cellphone. I give it to Apple for developing the Iphone - a real smart gadget. Whatever your phone - a critical checkpoint is battery life. Often we wait for battery to go down before charging. Dont ! Keep it full charge all the time. All the SMSes saved my senses and maybe even my life.4. I learnt for the first time that when running through fire and/or smoke - run bending down and wrap a wet blanket around. I did that thanks to a friend who advised me. Its a different story I chucked the blanket thinking that the cops would gun me down mistaking me for a terrorist. Good tip nevertheless.5. Dont miss the aspect of staying fit - in running shape. Can help you and maybe even you can help someone. Last few days I have heard/read a lot about peace marches and candles and politician bashing and police bashing and whatever else. I am sure a lot of energy will go in all that. Having been there I can only say that every soul - the cop, the fireman, the medico and even the common man on the street was doing the best he could. I dont blame anyone. I am sure good will prevail over evil in the long term. The short term blips we cannot avoid. I have a lot to say and yet not much more. God is the greatest and leads to the ultimate destiny. I am thankful for all that has been and all that there is now. Happy to be writing to you and wish you and the family best for times ahead. Am sure we will be in touch. Till then.
Regards Rahul
ps : feel free to forward this to anyone you think might find the message useful to know.

corruption

last night while watching a talk show on a famous tv news channel about the role of media at the time of terror attacks. some one said very very good thing. he said
"hum bhagwan ko maante hai,
bhagwaan ki nahi maante,
hum raam ko maante hai
raam ki nahi maante
hum geeta ko maante hai
geeta ki nahi maante
hum allah ko maante hai
allah ki nahi maante
hum rasool ko maante hai
rasool ki nahi maante
hum quraan ko maante hai
quraan ki nahi maante
and i realised how big thing he said. yes we belive in law and order but we dontfollow law and order completely.we bribe people for small small things. we are the ones who are also equally responsible for terrorism in some or the other way.if we go to see at the micro level, dont we encourage corruption at times? i am no exception though. we bribe security guards at the private car parks where outsiders' cars are not allowed,so that he will allow us to park the car where we should not.than this becomes a practice for that guard to take money and let people enter, than god only knows the person is just a sophasticated local thief or a big terrorist.we believe in law but we dont follow law.if we see at root level of all terrorism , its the corruption. and the corruption is in our system itself. so we got to change the system.
know what we do? hum ghar se bahar nikalte hai aur maaniye bahar kichad hai aur hamara paijama ganda ho jaata hai to hum waapas aate hai wo paijama dho lete hai waapas wahin se guzarte hai , waapas paijama ganda hota hai waapas aate hai aur paijama dho kar saaf kar lete hai . par kya hum kabhi sochte hai ki kyon na hum ja kar woh kichad hi saaf kar de jahan se paijama ganda hota hai aur fir bhi hame wohi raaste se jaana hota hai?
similar is the case of our system and human psychology. we face terror attacks and than we give awards and rewards to the shahids and fighters and the compensations to the victims and we take out rallies and burn candles and we crib at our politicians for few days and than we return to our routine way of thinking in few days or months ( this trauma and drama time depends on the impact of the attack and how much individual is affected).
but this time lets make a pledge that atleast we the ones who are readng this will not be part of the chain of this corrupt system.
i take a pledge that i want bribe anyone for getting my work done at my convenience.i can make a differance to myself to make a differance to the society and to my city and to my country. i cant go on the front to fight the battle but sure can fight the battle with the virus of bribing, which are present within myself.
thanks for reading andresponding my blog.

i came across an email and an article in one of the english news papers about how our cricketers are rewarded and awarded for each match played( and not played by the standby team members and 12th man).
This really made me wonder and compare how poorly paid are our security personals, our army men, our police, our fire brigade persons and many more who are in the service of the nation and society. can a person get motivated to work hard and work honestly when the person is not satisfied from within? and still i salute all of this people, perform their duties at their best most of the time without even thinking about their own life. i said most of the time because there are few exceptional occassional cases of run away from duty types because of corruption and dis-satisfactions.
if our cricketers fail to win the match , they still would get their remuneration and we just crib a bit and continue watching the series of matches. but when our commandos fought for 60 hours non stop and caught hold of terrorists dead and aliv both, yet people ask questions what took them 60 hours to tackle with just few terrorists? did anyone of us went and told them that here i am to give this part of my income or service to you as a reward and award to your service to the nation? lakhs of people gathered at gateway of india and just a few must have thought to go to CST and KAMA hospital. who from the millions spared their one day income and expenditure for this people? if someone did than very good but if not than better late than never.
i have no grudge against our cricketers or anyone who earns well but my point is lets get present to this bitter truth and do something in our own little way by changing our own minds and thoughts.
once again sorry indian cricket team. its just an example i used.

lets make a differance

at certain extent it will make a differance if each one of us takes a pledge to vote and be counted. but tell me one thing ,do u see some good options in place of the current corrupted ones? i dont see many good options at present.and for that what i believe is there should be a system made from root where we as nation, start breeding real educated politicians to run our country and produce millions of educated commandos to guard our nation. for this i have few suggestion to give to our system makers.

1. with our students learning history of who was born when we are making them aware of our past. but what about the future? make subjectslike political sciences at all concerned acedamic levels compulsory as how we have civics in school. this will give us few good educated honest politicians in near future and in long term we will have a assembly of educated youth instead of the old so called experienced lot who doesnt want to experience the pain and grief of the ones of the other world (thats the common men and the non political genere of ourcountry).

2.make it compulsory for the students( who graduate) to go through 6 months compulsory army training before making their degrees available to them. ( in other countries its 2 years tha they have to give to the nation but indias have no time for country and system doesnt have so much money to spend for nations security so here is the concession of 1 and a half years and so i said onl 6 months). this will give us diciplined civilised responsible young commandos whom the government will not have to pay anything and yet they will be always available to protect themselves and the society and th country.

3. and i believe education makes lot of difference in all areas so eventually we will be successful in eradicating terror by eradicting corruption and selfishness.

this are totally my personal views and not necessarily agreeable to all so only f you agree with my this views and if i have successfully sent the message across than please forward my this views to as many as possible. if u r a blog writer than post it on ur blog.
thanks for taking out time and reading my post.

india meri jaan

I do not agree, not voting is the solution, as we may not vote but there are people who will still vote and elect the wrong ones, once again. I think it is high time that vote, we must, and demand, what we need as change.

Most of us have never voted before, and this is where, we are now. Absolutely helpless.

Let us begin now. Lets take a pledge that we all will vote. We choose the ones, we look up to for the change that we need. There shouldn’t be anyone, confusing us with our regional identities, beliefs and casts, any more.

Instead, lets get together and seek, a 3 year term of performance, for every politician. Declare all their assets to us now. Make a security agency, as strong as FBI. Provide the appropriate arms and ammunition to our security forces. Ask all parties to be one at this juncture or bear the wrath of refusal from us, the people of India . Give us the account of bribes that were taken while allowing breach at the harbor. Cancel the LOC agreement.

Move forward this time.

We all may have many questions, only way to get the answers, is to have a voice. Vote will ensure that to us. Let us be counted.

I apologize for copying it to all. But Mumbai is India . Sentiment is strong now and I wish that this becomes the turning point, for all the faiths, that we believe in.

I too reciprocate,

Jai Hind !
